Hello, dear Reader!
Halloween is my favorite holiday, and this year I’m celebrating by embracing the spook. I started watching Yellowjackets (2021) Season 1 now streaming on Netflix, and scared myself silly. Spoiler alert: this isn’t a great show to watch right before bedtime. It’s an extraordinary, horrific piece of art and very well done—think Lord of the Flies meets Lost meets the Donner party—but it’s also a hard watch. I’m also enjoying Agatha All Along on Disney Plus, and was really impressed with last night’s plot-propelling episode. So good!
On FlamesRising.com, I’m also diving deep into some magical topics on #WitchyWednesday throughout the month. The linked essays are free to read and available now.

Regarding tarot, you may have taken my Tarot for Storytellers writing workshop. During the class, I offer several references for you to explore tarot further in your work. Several of these books, games, and tarot card decks are featured in Over 30 Resources to Read, Learn, and Play with Tarot for Halloween. Check out the recommendations!
At present, I’m in the midst of GameHole Con XI preparations and am binging on pumpkin spice to avoid the Fall drudgery. The winters here are cold, dark, and require some prep because there’s so little daylight; I’m trying to enjoy the fresh air when I can. At least it’s perfect weather for a nice cuppa!
Hope you’re fabulous!
Monica
