Hey everyone,
The rainbow bridge shimmers for both cats and my heart isn’t in work right now. I wanted to share some fun things with you instead, so please enjoy a fanfic I wrote and some cat pictures.
Once, long ago…
Once, long ago, there lived a man who performed all of the jobs no one wanted, for he was a destroyer who could draw upon the power of invulnerability, a man who sought to better himself by earning gold to one day claim a gilded throne. Where others built castles and designed cities in faraway places, this man's talents were found in breaking things. Brick by brick, he dismantled walls and ceilings, leaping over pits of lava to reach unimaginable heights.
Some say this man was greedy. Others, in search of love. But few know the truth. This unlucky man was none of those things.
This man was cursed by fate.
Traveling through the underbelly of his world, the nameless man met all manner of creature on his journeys. Though he was sustained by the fruits of his land, he suffered from a ravenous hunger, and consumed whatever fungus and ripened berries he could find.
Like Odysseus of old, he faced spirits and elementals, liches and primates, testudines, witches—even avatars of death. And, like Odysseus, he's trapped in a labyrinth, cursed with the knowledge he will never return home.
Lured with the promise of riches and royal titles, this man continues to journey, riding mechanized steeds of might and glory, even drawing upon the power of the stars hoping to end his mighty quest after 37 years, never realizing his efforts are futile.
And his name is...
Super Mario!
