Hello, hello!

I’m thrilled to mention that into shadow: a poetic exploration of personal fears is now available on Kindle. Last time, I mentioned I was going to start sharing some pics from my trip to Egypt. These five photographs are of ~3,000 year-old paintings from Nefertari’s tomb found in the Valley of the Queens. Queen Nefertari was a beloved regent and the paintings are a testament to her husband’s (Ramesses II’s) love.

I went back and forth about whether or not to edit the coloring. In the end, I am opting not to. I hope by sharing these “as is” you’ll experience the awe I did standing in her painted tomb. There’s no words to describe what it’s like to stand amongst the paintings of an ancient civilization. I hope you enjoy them!

A rare painting of Khepri in human form.
From left to right: Khnum, Unknown goddess, Unknown (likely Ramsesses II) in a protective stance.
From left to right: Nefertari and Isis
From top to bottom: celestial sky. The figures depicted on the walls are Wadjet and Anpu.
Funerary barge of Osiris watched over by Horus accompanied by a lion and an ibis.
