New Release! One Night in the Catacombs Party Game
a story-centric game for three or more Guests
Hello, dear Readers!
Today, I am pleased to release a brand new story-centric party game for three or more Guests on DriveThruRPG.com. Have $5 to spare? Interested in an urban fantasy game? Read on, my friends!
In One Night in the Catacombs, you and three+ Guests play yourselves—influencers—who’ve been invited to an exclusive event celebrating a new section’s discovery in the catacombs in Naples, Italy. You begin the game as you are now.
One of your fellow Guests acts as a Maven, or host, for tonight’s party. They relay your sponsor’s instructions in letters—you learn what the game is about and how to play it right away. No waiting! Plus, you’ll have prompts for decisions at key points and learn the rules as you go.
Adjustments are offered for both #TTRPG and #LARP groups, along with a section on roleplaying tips and my design philosophy. Short version: failure is interesting, threats can be resolved with or without combat, and death is not the end.
Am I nervous about today’s release? Yeahhhhh… This was a lot of fun for me to write and design, but like all my other releases I’ll always ask myself if I threw the kitchen sink into it. I sincerely hope you enjoy this rules-light party game; I designed it for people of varying levels of gaming experience to emphasize the story.
You can find a preview of One Night in the Catacombs that lists the Credits, Table of Contents, and the story’s initial hook. Just visit One Night in the Catacombs on DTRPG.com.
Thank you for celebrating this fun party game’s release with me. Off to cross a million other things on my To Do list so I can take a day off tomorrow. Ciao!
