Hello excellent and admirable readers,
The holidays are winding down, and I’ve wrapped up both the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings movie trilogy rewatches. I’ll probably rewatch Rings of Power begrudgingly (I didn’t care that much for Season Two), and I’m excited to watch the animated War of the Rohirrim when it’s available. This, plus a loved one’s interested in hand-drawn maps, has led to some digital collections of Tolkienesque art references I want to redraw. I’m hoping by creating line art of familiar images, I’ll have a strong foundation to help me learn how to paint watercolors. I also discovered the Libby app and have been reading: some comfort, some work-related, some reference. So happy this app exists!
Hopefully you’ve had a wonderful holiday! Mine was great, but I’m ready for the celebrations to be over. I spent some time yesterday setting up my journals/goals for 2025, and I’m ready to fill them. I’ve still got a few niggly project management aspects and reorganizing to wrap up, but other than spending a day making new-to-me appetizers? Welcome 2025—whatever you may bring.
To kick the New Year off with a little self-care, I’ve created a challenge of 24 activities you can do in January on your schedule. Feel free to tackle them in the order and timeframe that best fits your needs. Hopefully this list will help inspire you to start the new year off on a positive note. Let’s kick 2025 off right!
